Our emotions are chemicals and chemical cocktails that allow us to have an experience. These chemicals bind to receptor sites in the body and the bodies of the people AND environments we are in relationship with. When these chemicals do not move through us, “emote” as they are intended to, they get stored in the tissue until we are ready and able to experience them. If they are not addressed, they become blocks to our natural flow of expression and experience. Clearing an energy blockage requires identifying the underlying emotions, understanding the pattern, and especially learning the lesson–so as to avoid a repetition of the same pattern, is the goal. Until we have the experience, learn the lesson we continue to re-create similar situations until we do. According to many Holistic traditions, this is the origin of our dis-eases and unbalanced health.
Some examples are as follows: Adrenalin, among other chemicals, are going to flood the body when we are stressed, either by a deadline at work or an almost car accident and even an argument with someone we love. Oxytocin is a hormone that has been called the “bonding hormone” as it is released in the body and interacts with those we are in relationship with, it allows us the experiencing of bonding with another. Delivery rooms are flooded with this hormone after child birth. Men and women both are effected by this. When we have these experiences, “good or bad”, and then don’t have the opportunity to let those feelings flow, finding a holistic conclusion with the situation and or people we are involved with, these chemicals get stuck.
Researchers have found that depending on the physical ailment, we can fine tune the emotions that are stored in it, causing our physical imbalance. One of our most well known is Louise Hay. The first who wrote about this was a researcher in Germany named Girjdoff, during the 1940′s.
