Pre-Natal Pregnancy Massage
This massage is great for relieving the extra strain that is put on a pregnant woman’s back, especially during their second and third trimesters. This massage is different from a traditional massage in that extra support and cushioning are provided. Pillows will be placed underneath the knees and shoulders; if you are far along in your pregnancy you might be in more of a sitting position. You can always have your back massaged during pregnancy by lying on your side, with pillows under your head and between your legs.
This massage is great for easing neck and back pain, providing flexibility to birthing muscles and helping to promote better posture. Pre-Natal massage has also been proven to aid the circulatory and lymphatic systems, which keeps blood flowing to both the mother and the baby. Along with the blood flow the massage stimulates different glands in the body which relieves tension, helping to stabilize the hormone levels and promoting emotional support.
